    About Us

The Andhra Pradesh State Legal Services Authority (APSLSA), established under the Legal Services Authorities Act, 1987, is dedicated to providing free and competent legal aid to the marginalized and weaker sections of society. Guided by the constitutional mandate of Article 39-A, it upholds the principle of equal justice and free legal assistance for all.

The Authority is led by the Hon’ble Chief Justice of the High Court of Andhra Pradesh as its Patron-in-Chief, with the next senior-most Judge serving as the Executive Chairman. Supported by the State Government, APSLSA functions through a wide network of District Legal Services Authorities (DLSAs) and Mandal Legal Services Committees (MLSCs). These bodies bring justice closer to the people through legal aid clinics, Lok Adalats, and mediation centres, ensuring that dispute resolution is accessible, affordable, and people-centric.

Its strength lies in a committed team of Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs), Panel Advocates, Legal Aid Defence Counsel (LADCs), and trained mediators working across 1 High Court Legal Services Committee (HCLSC), 13 DLSAs, and 145 MLSCs. Together, they provide free legal assistance and facilitate fair settlements, ensuring that justice truly reaches the grassroots.

Through free legal aid, legal literacy, and alternative dispute resolution, APSLSA continues to bridge the gap between the justice system and society’s most vulnerable, bringing justice to the doorsteps of the people.
